How to build an online store with AI in 13 minutes

How to build an online store with AI in 13 minutes

On October 22 I took the stage at eRetail Day Panamá 2026 with a simple plan: build a real online store, live, with the audience deciding what it sold and what it was called. No filler slides and nothing prepared in advance.

It took us 8 minutes to choose the store together and 13 minutes to have it published with its CRM, 6 Instagram posts and an animated reel. Here is how it went, what ended up working and how you can do the same for your business, because the tool I used is yours for free.

The first question on screen: the audience answered from their phones by scanning the QR code.

Minutes 0 to 8: the audience chose the store

I opened the session with a QR code on screen. Each person joined from their phone at vota.chiragx.com, signed up with their name and email, and showed up on the big screen in real time. In about 6 minutes, 87 people signed up.

Then came 4 short, serious questions:

  • Explain your product. 65 different business ideas came in, from alcohol-free wine made in Panama to wooden puppets.
  • A one-word name for the store. 54 proposals. A filter kept out jokes and profanity, so every name on screen was a real one.
  • Do you want Instagram content? Yes, 57 votes out of 60.
  • Do you want a quick promo video? Yes, 60 votes out of 61.

The winner was a phone store, Juvencio's idea, with the name Luis proposed: NatureOils. A phone store with that name was part of the fun: the audience was in charge, and the AI had to make it work anyway.

Minutes 8 to 21: what we built in 13 minutes

With the name and product chosen, I handed the request to Claude Code with my e-commerce skill, and it started building while I walked through each step on screen. This is what ended up working:

  • The complete store, published at ecom.chiragx.com: a home page with the brand, 3 categories (high end, mid range and accessories), 8 products with prices, product pages with colors, storage options and discounts, a cart and checkout.
  • Orders through WhatsApp, with no payment gateway: the customer builds their order, picks pickup or delivery and confirms it on WhatsApp. That is how most businesses in Panama sell.
  • The store's CRM: a summary with sales and stats, orders on a board by status with live alerts, customers with history and notes, leads, and products you can add, edit or remove without touching code.
  • Every image, generated with xyCloser in the same studio style so the catalog looks like a single photo shoot.
  • 6 Instagram posts with Pinterest-level quality, using the store's real prices.
  • An animated reel with motion graphics, showing someone entering the store, choosing a phone and placing an order.

While I showed the store, Claude kept working: it generated the posts in xyCloser and put the reel together with real screenshots of the site and a real test order.

How it gets done so fast

It is not magic or a stage trick. It is a Claude Code skill: a package of instructions, templates and scripts that teaches Claude to build the same kind of store every time, with the same proven editorial design. The only thing that changes from one brand to the next is the data: the name, the products, the copy and the photos.

That is why nothing has to be designed from scratch. Claude writes the catalog, generates the photos, publishes the store on Cloudflare with its own database and hands you the link to the store and to its CRM. Every order and sign-up can flow straight into xyCloser for follow-up.

What I am giving away

The skill I used to build NatureOils is free. You get the catalog, WhatsApp ordering, the CRM, the store's QR code and the instructions to publish it on your own Cloudflare account, whose free plan is enough.

All you need is Claude Code, a Cloudflare account and some photos of your products. If you want the photos in the same studio style, the skill is built for xyCloser. The skill and its store are in Spanish.
